my first paycheck meal

So according to my uncle, it's a tradition to treat family to a meal after the first paycheck of your first job. I thought that it was just a thing we asked from our friends--but apparently it's something that relatives ask for too. And now that I'm the one that has the job, I had to do my turn of the tradition and treat out to a meal--my family!

This is one of the times I'm glad for a super small family because that means there are less mouths to feed. Haha! We ended up eating at Causeway, one of our favorite Chinese restaurants because of all the yummy dimsum! Also, my mum hasn't eaten here in years so there we went!

Some of our oh-so-favorite foods in Causeway! I'd show you my shot of the Century Egg and Jellyfish but it was a measy shot because we had eaten most of it before I got the chance to take a photo of it! Here are the rest though: super yummy! :D

Spring Cleaning 2011

I normally clean my room during the summer: one long day (possibly a week) of cleaning out and weeding out everything I just do not need anymore and throwing/giving them away. I normally end up still having a lot of stuff because I'm such a pack rat. 

This year's spring cleaning came just when it should be--around the spring time. And tho we don't have Spring in the Philippines, that's okay because it was high time I did some cleaning anyway. This was mainly because we'll be losing our helpers soon and if the house were left the way it always has been, then we'd be living in a pig sty with diseases and shiz. I've been wanting to have a general cleaning of my room too because I hate living in dust and I've been irritated with the way I've been living for a long while now. I'm jealous of those very neat and tidy rooms that I reblog on Tumblr and the rooms of my Brandstorm groupmates. They seem to have simple but very neat rooms and I've never lived in such order so I wanted to give it another shot. This time my rule was simple: NO MERCY. 

Since my memory card conked out, I no longer have the pictures of the four XL garbage bags worth of stuff that I threw out including old papers, pillows, toys, bags, clothes, etc. I'm thinking about going through my bookshelf tomorrow to weed out the books I don't dare read ever. I mean I know I have this dream about setting up a huge library to read for when I'm old--but there are titles there that don't even interest me (that I bought simply because they came hella cheap). I threw out a multitude of old toys and gave most of them to my helpers. I was thinking of the whole "what will I pass down to my child?" kind of thing but it's okay. I left my Barbie convertible still. I have no Barbies anymore, but whatever. 

I also managed to fix the disaster that is my closet. It's like the Twilight Zone in there. I didn't dare touch it but now there is hardly anything in there and I'm happy its that way now. I hope I can keep this up forever! :)

 

All of my owl rings are from my mom but I'm beginning to be a ring-nut. This could be a potential danger.

And so that's my clean room. I also managed to pay for something tonight, so I'm glad that's over and done with. And now I shall work. :)

My dad's been hinting that I'm getting bigger recently. Not just a couple of times though. A lot. Yes, I admit, I haven't been in control of my appetite recently, but I just wished that he remembered that I'm smart enough to get the hint once. I'm trying. Little baby steps. I'm trying to think and discover what's right for me. The thing is, I can start dieting or even making it close to nothing. But I think there are days that I just hungry because my body isn't used to it and I shock it right away. Well, I need support for self discipline. How contradictory.
